Sometimes when cole is late for work, or in this case, church, he will save time by whipping out the camera and having a photo shoot with elliot. Usually I am very annoyed with this tendency which happens a lot more than one would think, but this one turned out pretty cute. As they all do.
Not really into putting on a show for the camera. Or for anything. (e.g. lizzy at an interview for a waitressing job:
"so lizzy, what do you know about japanese food?"
"not a lot. sushi?"
"why do you want this job?"
"i really need money"
"ok well we'll call you when we make a decision."
"no you won't."
"ok, we won't."

So these pictures were taken in Elliot's peculiarly favorite part of our apartment--a 2x4 foot slab of marble in front of a decorative fireplace. She will drag her books and babies and kitties out to this faux hearth and just play, for like a really long time. Ask her what she's doing? "I'n chillin in the spot." She is so fascinating sometimes I feel less like a mom than a scientist in a lab coat watching a chimp bang open coconuts with a rock. Not in like a derogatory way, its just like, wow. how do you come up with these things and how did you get to be so smart?
Also, here is a photo to remind us of the advantages of having a baby that gained all but one pound of her current weight in her first sixth months (as if we needed any reminding!): they can wear the same clothes for ever and ever.

cute outfit. those are some classic expressions too.
Seriously, almost every day Travis and I discuss how Elliot is the cutest smartest baby in the world.
Literally, almost every day.
It's getting a bit stalkery.

Her little spot is such a great space for a photo shoot. Such an adorable fashionista!
