I know I posted this on Facebook a while back, but I think this picture is SO cool that I had to put it here, too. We were out shopping for furniture and stuff for Elliot’s very own, very first room and Suzie walked, with the stroller, past this wall. I just thought that was a beautiful (if not kinda an exaggerated cliché) of raising a family in Brooklyn. (Click on the picture to see in in all its huge, splendid glory)
Everything’s been good here—it feels like home. Or maybe better because we’re living in this lavishly huge, beautiful and fully furnished apartment on the 6th floor of a nice complex in a nice neighborhood next to a beautifully nice park. We have to move out in just a little over a week, but our stay here has been a very comfortable ease-in to life in the city.
Today, a neighbor from downstairs asked Suzie if we wanted to sublet his place for 4 MONTHS! We about died because that would have been incredible. But…… we signed on a place of our own already. And that place will be incredible, too. Just a little less furnished and slightly less lavishly huge.
Here’s a pic swiped from Google Maps of the front of our new place and of the street that we’re moving to. It’s a perfect brownstone, tree-lined street… just like in everyone’s perfect Brooklyn dreams… So we got pretty lucky.
