My interest was piqued when I read about Bob Cousy in The Book of Basketball a couple days ago. And finding these pictures and watching this video definitely add to it. His style (those cons, the short shorts, the hairy chest and legs), his demeanor, the all-out scramble way he played, dribbling loops across the floor while seemingly using only his right hand, and his over-the-head backwards passes… it’s a lot of fun. In the book, Bill Simmons said that he was one of the first to realize you could bring entertainment to winning basketball. These brought a smile to my face for sure.
(ps: good video, good song, but a little bit of swearing… Also, the soundtrack doesn’t scream “COOZ” but that’s ok.)
