christmas morning

i know, i know this is extremely—perhaps even pointlessly—late. but i already prefaced that as the theme for the next little bit: catching up.
so.
for the break we traveled to both seattle and north carolina, same as last year, but in reverse order. it’s good to see both families because we're so far away from everyone, but i will not lie: that is a LOT of travelling.
i’m not going to get into vacation details… it is too late for that. but I will show these shots from christmas morning up in seattle:
opening her first present.
suzie got her a little stuffed lamb because ever since elliot was born, she’s had this hilarious vibrato in her voice so she sounds like a little bleating lamb. seriously too, too cute. even her first heart-breaking cry when she was laying in the NICU all hooked up to tubes… i couldn’t help but laugh just a little because her cry was so cute.
as she grew up, it filled her laughs and her cooing and her excited outbursts.
these past couple weeks have been a bit bitter sweet because she's learning how to talk, saying things like “mama” and “dada” and “puppy” and “ball” and “book” and “bear” (which all sound peculiarly similar), and “nai-nai” when she’s tired and ready for bed… it’s great. but, the baby-version of the english language has all-but taken over for her little lamb bleats… every once in a while she does it still and it’s seriously a precious gem.
man… a little overly sentimental? i ’bout brought myself to tears! ha.
elliot’s just chilling on suzie’s lap… strangely placid.
beautiful suzie.

and… a smiling picture! there are more of these nowadays. ;)
